Approved State(s): TX
This course equips real estate professionals with the tools to recognize and discuss safety risks in residential properties—specifically burn-related hazards such as scalding water, hot surfaces, and open heat sources. These risks can affect a home’s appeal, value, and liability profile. By learning to spot and communicate these issues during listing consultations, showings, or inspections, agents enhance their competence, build client trust, and reduce the risk of post-closing issues or complaints. The course also introduces safety resources agents can share with clients, including a national awareness campaign known as the Leah Project.
Upon completion, licensees will be able to:
- Identify common burn-related hazards in homes and explain their implications during showings and inspections.
- Evaluate how water heater settings and other heat-related risks may affect buyer satisfaction, insurance, or safety disclosures.
- Recommend affordable safety upgrades (e.g., anti-scald devices, stove guards) as part of value-added service during client consultations.
- Apply child-safe staging tips to protect visitors during open houses and better serve families with young children.
- Use home safety knowledge as a differentiator to position themselves as competent, caring professionals with long-term client value.
